On the High Instructions of His
Majesty the King, may God assist Him, the General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI) under the National Defense Administration organized on June 22, 2023, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, a seminar on Healthcare Information Systems Security at the Poison Control and Pharmacovigilance Center under this Ministry.
Presiding over the opening of this seminar were His Excellency the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Prof. Khalid Aït Taleb, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Mr. Abdellatif Loudiyi, and Mr. Omar Seghrouchni, President of the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
The organization of this event is part of the dynamic development of the National Health System, which His
Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, has called for reforming and restructuring to ensure the efficient implementation of social protection and health coverage initiatives. It also falls within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of Law No. 06.22 on the health system, particularly the fourth pillar which concerns the digitization of the health sector, through the creation of an integrated information system allowing for the collection, processing, and utilization of all basic health system information.
This seminar, aimed at meeting the imperative of accompanying the digital transformation of the health sector and highlighting appropriate security measures that can be applied to enhance digital trust, constituted a space for debate and sharing of knowledge and experiences. In addition to emphasizing the importance of protecting data and information in this sector, considered of Vital Importance according to Law 05.20 on cybersecurity, the seminar allowed healthcare professionals and senior executives of public and private healthcare institutions to be presented with the main cyber risks threatening the continuity of their establishments' activities and even the health and safety of citizens, as well as proposing the best practices and regulatory approaches to be adopted in this field to prevent and mitigate these risks.
