The 3rd Edition of the cybersecurity seminar "Protection of Critical Information Systems for Operators of Vital Importance (OIV)"

The development of information technologies, the internet, and the increasing interconnection of information systems (IS) have been accompanied by a resurgence of cyber attacks targeting states, institutions, businesses, and citizens. These attacks can be extensive and consequently disrupt the functioning of both state organs and Critical Infrastructure (CI).

The attacks recorded in recent years, which continue to multiply against CI, have highlighted an increased sophistication of cyber attacks requiring an appropriate approach for the development of a national strategy to protect the information systems of states, especially those related to the management of CI.

In this context, the Directorate General of Information Systems Security (DGSSI) organized a seminar under the theme "WHAT APPROACH FOR PROTECTING THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS OF OPERATORS OF VITAL IMPORTANCE?" on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the Bank Al Maghrib Club in Rabat.

The seminar was attended by 320 participants representing Directors of Information Systems (DIS) and Responsible for Information Systems Security (ISSR) of major CI and their supervisory bodies, as well as administrations, public bodies, and security and defense agencies.

The objective of the seminar was to propose to the participants new measures to significantly strengthen the security of CI information systems and also to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, traceability of their data, and ultimately ensure the continuity of their operations.

The seminar revolved around national and international experiences in the field of protecting these sensitive information systems. It involved the participation of national and international experts who were able to identify real issues and propose practical measures that have already proven effective.

The seminar was marked by a series of presentations on the risks and threats facing CI IS and the sharing of national and international experiences in the field of protecting these sensitive information systems.
