Cybersecurity strategic commitee

MISSIONS

Established by Law No. 05-20 of July 25, 2020, the Cybersecurity Strategic Committee (CSC), formerly known as the Information Systems Security Strategic Committee of, is the authority responsible for developing the state's strategic orientation in cybersecurity. it is also responsible for:

  •   Ensuring the resilience of the information systems of entities, infrastructures of vital importance, and operators mentioned in Section III of Chapter II of the aforementioned Law No. 05-20.
  •   Annually assessing the activity report of the General Directorate of Information Systems Security.
  •   Evaluating the work of the National Committee for Managing Major Cyber Crises and Events as provided for in Article 36 of the aforementioned Law No. 05-20.
  •   Defining the scope of information systems security audits conducted by the General Directorate of Information Systems Security.
  •   Promoting research and development in the field of cybersecurity.
  •   Promoting awareness programs and capacity-building actions in cybersecurity for the benefit of entities and infrastructures of vital importance.
  •   Providing opinions on draft laws and regulatory texts related to the field of cybersecurity.

COMPOSITION

In accordance with the provisions of Article 2 of the aforementioned Decree No. 2-21-406, the Cybersecurity Strategic Committee is chaired by the minister delegate to the head of government in charge of the administration of national defense. It is composed of the following members:

  •   The Minister in charge of Interior
  •   The Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs
  •   The Minister in charge of Economy and Finance
  •   The Minister in charge of Industry and Digital Economy
  •   The General Inspector of the Royal Armed Forces
  •   The Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie
  •   The General Director of Studies and Documentation
  •   The General Director of National Security
  •   The Chief of the 5th Bureau of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces
  •   The Inspector of Transmissions of the Royal Armed Forces
  •   The General Director of Territorial Surveillance
  •   The General Director of Information Systems Security
  •   The General Director of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency
  •   The General Director of the Digital Development Agency
 

(1) State administrations, local authorities, public institutions and companies, and any other public legal entities.

(2) Operators of public telecommunications networks, internet service providers, cybersecurity service providers, digital service providers, and internet platform publishers.
