Africain Cyber Security Forum - 2025

The General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI), in partnership with Smart Africa, organized the African Cybersecurity Forum from February 3 to 5, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat, Kasr Al Bahr, in Morocco. This prestigious event, held under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, underlined the Kingdom of Morocco's strong commitment to strengthening pan-African cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity and digital transformation.

Under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Trusted Cloud: A Pillar for Strengthening Cybersecurity,” this edition brought together ministers, senior government officials, renowned international experts, and private sector leaders. Together, they explored strategic issues related to digital transformation and securing cyberspace in Africa, while sharing innovative solutions to address current and future challenges.

The forum featured in-depth debates and workshops on the impact of artificial intelligence and trusted cloud in several key areas:

  • Transforming Cybersecurity: Strengthening the continent’s digital resilience against growing cyber threats.

  • Securing and Optimizing Industrial Operations: A particular focus was placed on strategic sectors such as oil and gas, where cybersecurity is critical to ensuring operational continuity.

  • Protecting Major International Events: Discussions addressed the challenges of securing major events like the World Cup and the Olympic Games, highlighting innovative technological solutions.

Highlights:

Alongside the discussions, three key events enriched the forum’s proceedings:

  1. Annual Meeting of African National Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA): This meeting provided a unique platform for collaboration among cybersecurity decision-makers, enabling the harmonization of strategies and strengthening regional cooperation.

  2. High-Level Meeting on Artificial Intelligence for Africa: Organized under the auspices of Smart Africa, this session explored strategic initiatives to integrate AI into the continent’s digital development policies.

  3. Specialized Workshops: These interactive sessions addressed practical themes, including:

    • The use of artificial intelligence for threat detection;

    • Predictive analytics and security automation in DevSecOps;

    • Enhancing cyber risk management.

This forum served as a privileged platform to strengthen partnerships, share best practices, and lay the groundwork for lasting collaboration in cybersecurity across the African continent. Through these fruitful exchanges, concrete pathways were identified to accelerate digital transformation while ensuring a safe and resilient cyberspace for Africa.
