The main objective of this law is to strengthen and protect consumer rights by ensuring better information, protecting against abusive clauses and certain commercial practices, and providing additional provisions related to conventional guarantees and after-sales service.

Given the important role of the consumer movement in informing, raising awareness, and legally protecting consumer rights, this law grants recognized consumer associations the right to take legal action representing the collective interests of consumers.
