Morocco elected vice-president of the network of African cybersecurity authorities

On November 28, 2023, in Accra, Ghana, the General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI) participated in the 2nd meeting of the Network of African Cybersecurity Authorities (NACSA). This significant event brought together representatives from the majority of member countries with the goal of enhancing cooperation and coordination in cybersecurity across the continent.

The objective of NACSA is to promote collaboration between cybersecurity agencies, support existing initiatives for a secure cyberspace in Africa, and strategically position the continent on the global cybersecurity stage through a coordinated, strong, credible, and collective approach. NACSA also aims to increase the number of African cybersecurity authorities, currently standing at 17, to include officials from all African countries.

During this meeting, the Network's Executive Committee was officially formed, marking a crucial milestone in the collective effort to ensure digital security in Africa. The Republic of Ghana, the host country represented by Dr. Albert Atwi-Boasiako, Director-General of the National Cybersecurity Authority, was unanimously elected to the presidency of the network for the next two years.

Additionally, DGSSI, represented by General El Mostapha Rabii, was elected as the Vice-President of the Network. This appointment reflects Morocco's ongoing commitment to promoting cybersecurity on the African continent and strengthening South-South cooperation, in line with the High Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Glorify Him.
